When to use Novamed® Hand Soap?

Area IA - Low Risk

  • Before the start of the working day and at the end of the working day.
  • Whenever hands are dirty or contaminated with organic matter, blood or other body fluids.
  • After contact with body fluids or excretions, mucous membranes, non-intact skin and wound dressings.

Area IB - Medium Risk

  • Before and after eating.
  • After going to the toilet.
  • After sneezing, blowing your nose, etc.
  • After contact.
  • Before direct contact with patients.
  • After direct contact with patients.
  • After direct contact with intact patient skin e.g. when taking pulse, blood pressure or mobilising a patient.
  • Before putting on and after removing gloves.

Area II - High Risk

  • After contact with objects in close proximity to the patient, including medical equipment and medical supplies.
  • When performing patient care when moving from a contaminated area to a clean area.

  • In cases of suspected or confirmed exposure to Bacillus anthracis and Clostridium difficile, the mechanical action of washing and rinsing is recommended since alcohols, chlorhexidine, iodophors and other antiseptics have little activity against spores.
Indications for use:

Apply 3 mL to wet hands, wash them (paying special attention to the fingertips, the area between the fingers, wrists and palms), rinse with water and dry them.
